Join us for a summer send-off with industry peers over drinks, snacks, and great conversation, along with a behind-the-scenes look at one of Manitoba’s most innovative building research facilities.
We’ll start the afternoon with a guided tour of the Building Efficiency Technology Access Centre (BETAC), led by Director Alireza Kaboorani, Ph.D. BETAC is a leading-edge facility dedicated to advancing building durability and energy efficiency through applied research and industry collaboration.
During the tour, you’ll explore BETAC’s advanced capabilities, including environmental and structural testing chambers, airtightness testing, infrared imaging, and more. You’ll also learn how BETAC supports businesses through research, training, and real-world performance testing.
After the tour, we’ll transition into a networking mixer, where you can enjoy refreshments, continue conversations, and connect with colleagues before our seminar series resumes in September.

Speaker Bio:
Alireza Kaboorani
Alireza Kaboorani has been serving as the Director of the Building Efficiency Technology Access Centre at RRC Polytech since November 2019. With over 25 years of experience, he has excelled in planning and spearheading research initiatives in diverse academic and industrial settings. His areas of expertise encompass building envelope, building science, and the development of advanced building materials and biomaterials.
Chang Liu
Chang Liu, with a diploma in structural engineering from RRC Polytech, possesses extensive experience in testing building envelopes, including airtightness tests for residential and commercial buildings.
